Tohoku University DEI Symposium「Gendered Innovation Opens the Way to DEI」
Since our university, which has an “open door” philosophy, decided to admit female students,This philosophy, which has not faded even after more than 110 years, has recently evolved into initiatives such as promoting joint participation and supporting female researchers. In 2022, we issued a DEI promotion declaration and are accelerating our efforts to create a university that respects diversity. In this context, we are pleased to invite Professor Londa Schiebinger, an advocate of “Gendered Innovation” a concept that incorporates the perspectives of gender and sex differences into research to create new discoveries and possibilities for innovation, to discuss how we can create a society that makes the most of diversity.
