Outline

Project description

In commemoration of the enrollment of the first women students in Japan in 1913, and to celebrate the centennial anniversary this year (2013) at Tohoku University, the 100th Anniversary of the 1st Women Students 2013 Project will be launched. A commemorative symposium is also scheduled for August 8th.
Under this project, events including forums on behavior guidelines for the promotion of gender equality, commemorative symposia and other activities will be held throughout the year. We will have a look at our history in the light of gender equality and we will also investigate undertakings for our whole university for the next 100 years to come. Through this project, we hope to arouse conscious interest in the topic itself and to contribute to the promotion of gender equality in Japan.
