<TUMUG Events> Sawayanagi Fellows Lunch – Meeting with President Teiji Tominaga (June 25, 2026)

This year as well, we will be holding the Sawayanagi Fellows Lunch as a forum for the President of Tohoku University and its female researchers to talk casually. Not only female researchers, but also faculty, staff, and graduate students interested in DEI are welcome to participate. Advance registration is required as light meals will be provided.

Date/time: Thursday, June 25, 2026, 12:00-13:00
Venue: Extension Education Building, 1st floor hall (Katahira Campus)
Target: Female researchers at Tohoku University (professors, associate professors, lecturers, assistant professors, research associate, postdocs, etc.), & faculty, staff, and graduate students interested in DEI
Participation fee: 1,000 yen including lunch (standing buffet style)

The Sawayanagi Fellows* Lunch Meeting is held regularly for Sawayanagi Fellows and female researchers with the aim of providing mentoring and role models for female researchers, promoting networking and interdisciplinary exchange among them, and supporting the development of female leaders. As in last year, we will again invite President Teiji Tominaga to join us for an informal discussion with female researchers as well as faculty, staff, and graduate students interested in DEI.We look forward to your participation.

*What are Sawayanagi Fellows?Sawayanagi Fellows are female professors at Tohoku University who excel in both character and scholarship and who actively serve as mentors and role models for young female researchers.
