Tohoku University advancing to the next stage in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Tohoku University announced its “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Promotion Declaration” on April 5th, 2022. Previously, there were many schools and companies that announced the promotion of Diversity & Inclusion in Japan; however, they did not include “Equity”. Now we believe that “Equity” plays a significant role in order to achieve true diversity and inclusion. We decided to include “Equity” in our declaration.
We will make all members of Tohoku University feel proud of working and learning, and also enjoy belonging to Tohoku University regardless of their background. We will keep improving our environment in order to promote their best performance based on equity.
To demonstrate UNSDG’s motto, “Leave no one behind”, we will start promoting our DEI from here.
