In July 2026, Ms. Reika Nishino joined the Tohoku University DEI Promotion Center as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor (Administration).
Below is Ms. Nishino’s greeting upon her appointment.
Reika Nishino Specially Appointed Assistant Professor (Administration)
I am Reika Nishino, and pleased to have appointed as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor (Administration) .
My major is public policy, and I have also studied gender studies and data science. Through my past experiences, including initiatives to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields at an NPO, and my involvement in national and local legislative internship programs, I have actively engaged with various social issues.
By leveraging my background in my hometown of Sendai, as well as my experiences in Tokyo and studying abroad in Vienna, I look forward to contributing to the promotion of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) at Tohoku University.
