[Purpose and Objectives]
The TU-UW Academic Open Space (AOS) is a joint framework between Tohoku University (TU) and the University of Washington (UW) in the United States to promote education and research ( https://uw-tu-aos.bureau.tohoku.ac.jp/ja/ ). Since the opening of AOS in 2017, both universities have conducted research cooperation and educational exchanges in fields such as materials science, aerospace engineering, and disaster science. Starting in 2022, Phase 2 of TU-UW AOS was launched, expanding collaboration into new areas such as startup support, as well as promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
